Celebrating ten years as Wilmington's original bottle shop and beer garden, Fermental is set inside a former 1950's service station in the Cargo District of downtown Wilmington. Selling and serving a superb selection of local, regional, national, and international beers, Fermental also offers an ever-evolving inventory of wines, sake, mead, cider, and more

. Featuring a rotating list of draft beers and wines by the glass, Fermental also hosts live music, food trucks, tastings, weekly events, and occasional vendor markets. Imported cheeses, cured meats, pickles, olives, and other small bites are a daily option as well as several non-alcoholic beverages. All items are available for carry out or onsite consumption. ALLAGASH: Ghoulschip [Barrel-Aged Sour Ale w/ Pumpkin + Pumpkin Seeds + Molasses 7%].

A seasonal super rarity, Ghoulschip is brewed annually on Halloween. Afterwards, the brewers send the beer to rest among the specters in their Coolship, where it collects wild microflora from the cold Maine air. The beer then ferments in a stainless tank on house yeast before heading into oak barrels, where it sits in waiting for up to three years before release.

The finished product is a blend of one, two, and three year-old beer. In the first sip, caramelized malt carries though with a mild acidity that balances with Ghoulschip’s subtle earthiness.
