The owner of The Fork n Cork has opened a new restaurant right on the Cape Fear River. The menu is a mix of seafood and smoked/bbq items.

Sometimes, multiple restaurant owners come together in a time of need and find a way to combine two legacies into one collaboration that not only benefits us, but also our most loyal customers. This week, we gladly offered to collaborate on operations for Rumcow as we begin our transition into downtown Wilmington. Starting October 29th, our team will work alongside Rumcow as we enter this next chapter, building on the foundations both restaurants have established in Wilmington’s dining community.
For our guests, one thing remains certain: the food you know and love isn’t going away. Both concepts will continue to honor James’s legacy, the dishes, and experiences our loyal customers love. Over the coming weeks, we’ll begin thoughtfully integrating Smoke on the Water’s culinary offerings into Rumcow’s menu, with updates as the transition progresses. Our goal is to bring the best of both kitchens together while preserving the character, flavors, and hospitality that our guests have come to expect.
We’re grateful for the continued support of Wilmington’s dining community and look forward to what this partnership brings as we take our next steps downtown.

For the last nine, almost ten years, Smoke on the Water has done its best to achieve excellence across atmosphere, service, and food. We’re beyond grateful to everyone who walked through our doors and continues to. However, a situation has developed, with no notice, that we must vacate our beautiful building. We had every intention and a year-long desire to sign a new lease, but that opportunity was not presented to us as the building has been sold to a restaurant group. We will be closing to the public on Wednesday, October 28th.

From stunning sunsets, to live music, to creative food specials inspired by our waterfront, we will forever be grateful to be your stop for sunsets, events, and everything in-between. On the bright side, we’re not done yet. Things will look a little different in a new location soon, a popular downtown destination, near the water, so be sure to follow us for updates. You brought the “light” to RiverLights.
