Tonight we said goodbye to Gerta II, one of our QC staff and one of the best fish we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. G2 was coming up on 3 1/2 years old, so she had a good run. Glad we got her name on a beer before she died.

We just completed bottling another Schwarzbier, called G&G&NT. Short for "Gerta & Gunther & Nicodemus Too", this beer celebrates our water quality inspectors, who have occassionally lived in some dark and murky conditions.

Happy Oktoberfest everyone! Last week was our party at Neue Bayern, today begins the Saegerbund Oktoberfest, and the festivities begin tomorrow in Munich. Prost!

We preempted the Piltzwald in order to brew a holiday treat- Ivins Spiced Porter. Its a brown porter inspired by the spiced wafers of the same name. Bottling tomorrow and ready by Christmas.

What's been happening at Neue Bayern? Well, we had a slow few months, but we are back on track! Our Big Giz Imperial Stout is a month in with a few months to go. The Ivin's Spiced Porter is in the fermenter now and will be ready for Christmas.
