Who we are: We are a small brewery with a taproom. Just three guys who brought the vision of opening a small community brewery to reality. What is Black Horizon?: Black Horizon is not a mythical creature, nor a galactic phenomenon , nor lore, nor some deep rooted over-philosophical reference. Every business wants to be in the black eventually and that’s on our horizon. Get it? �
What to expect: There are plenty of seats at our bar and tables to accommodate an intimate feel but open enough to relax and enjoy a beer like an adult. We only serve OUR beer on tap which (of course) is made on site. We also offer a few non-alcoholic options as well. We will fill growlers (64oz containers) and all howlers (32oz containers),provided they are clean, either from our own stock or from other breweries. We do not serve food but we do have a few snack options and a binder of carry-out/delivery menus for places near us, for you to peruse. We are extremely BYOF friendly! Drinking: We offer 8oz & 16oz pours of our beer on tap. Please allow 1-1.5” of head per style of beer. House Rules: We ask that everyone be polite, offer up an open seat when available, be an adult and most importantly have fun. Please no firearms on premise, no outside pets (service animals with documentation allowed), overflow parking is in the back of the Target lot (located on Route 83, there is no street parking), we are credit and debit card only.

09/11 - Friday - Murder of Crows Oktoberfest Menu 5pm - 9pm + Double Limited Draft Release at 3pm

Tapping at 3pm we brought the classic BHBC twist of layering traditional Oktoberfest flavors into modern craft b**r. Both will be on tap for a limited time while supplies last!

OKTOBER-FLUFF - Toasted Marshmallow Marzen

Our Marzen/Oktoberfest infused with toasted vanilla marshmallows for a fun twist on our seasonal classic. Just the right amount of vanilla/mallow behind the beautiful biscuit and caramel notes of the base Marzen.

Fully Baked - Apple Strudel inspired l***r

The house l***r with apples, brown sugar and a hint of vanilla/cinnamon for a dessert like treat without a heavy sweetness. Comforting German dessert flavors in a glass!

We are excited to welcome back to the BHBC taproom! They are a farm to table pop-up focusing on locally sourced ingredients! They will bringing specialty items like Monte Cristo sandwiches, pot roast sliders over handmade mashed or sweet potatoes, BBQ meatballs, jalapeno cornbread!

The Thrower - Scottish style ale
ABV: 6.5% IBU: 20

The Thrower was brewed to honor one of the Chicago Bears first African American Quarterbacks as well as the one of the first African American quarterbacks to play in the Big Ten Conference (Michigan State). A pioneer in football at the time Willie "Mitts" Thrower was said to be able to throw 70+ yards. We brewed this Scottish style ale to honor not only him, our history but to celebrate a style of b**r we think captures what the Football season is all about. Malty, full of caramel notes, a hint of chocolate with a balanced hop finish. Raise a pint or grab a 4pk to share with friends and root on another wonderful season of football.

ABV: 7.5% IBU: 20

Arrrrgggg be ready to chug a pint or walk the plank! This big bodied red ale is brewed with hand selected German specialty malts for a rich but incredibly clean flavor. Expect notes of biscuit malt, gentle bread/toast, smooth caramel elements, with a rich body that finishes super clean. A malt lover's dream right here.

Oktoberfarce, Marzen, aged on toasted marshmallows and a hint of vanilla for a flavor profile that reminds us of s'mores without the chocolate. Notes of Caramel, vanilla, mallow, biscuit and graham cracker swirl in your glass.

ABV: 4.8%
The house l***r infused with caramelized apples, brown sugar, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon to create a warming l***r that makes you feel like you are taking a bite out of a fresh strudel. Comforting sugars and spices create a l***r profile fitting of Fall.

Some of the best smash burgers in Chicago right outside the taproom this Friday! Come grab a legendary Shorty's Smash famous for their ridiculous and extra crispy "cheese skirt" you won't find on any other smash burger in town. Pair that with a fresh BHBC b**r for a truly delicious way to kick off the weekend.

As the sun begins to fade earlier and the summer nights get cooler the best thing to do is enjoy a Fist Fight! Our house hazy IPA is infused with fresh squeezed blood orange puree and loads of fresh pineapple juice for a lush, vibrant, tropical spin on our beloved hazy. This hazy juice bomb is the perfect b**r to kick back sip slowly and enjoy these dogs days of summer.

Third annual l***r release with our friends at SKB to bring back a perfectly fitting b**r for the season. A "Poolside L***r", super low ABV Helles style l***r brewed to be dry, crisp and traditional. We aged it on a healthy amount of Hibiscus flower and lime for a bright pink color pop in the b**r with a delicate freshly cut citrus vibes that play perfectly with the easy drinking nature of the l***r base.

Oktoberfarce - Marzen style ale/Oktoberfest
ABV: 6% IBU: 20

Brewed traditionally like a Marzen style l***r with notes of toasted brioche, soft caramel, and biscuit with a zesty finish of classic noble hops to balance the malts. Oktoberfarce is the perfect blend of Marzen meets festbier.
So what is the farce?
We ferment out this traditional style with Kolsch yeast that gives it a l***r feel while technically being an ale.
Crisp, bready and clean for a wonderful bier that is just perfect for the fall season.
