Join us tonight at Swansson Fields. Our Willmar VFW Post 1639 Youth Baseball team has the honor of hosting Veterans Night. 🇺🇸⚾️

All veterans will receive a FREE meal, including a hot dog, chips, and a beverage.

Come out and support local baseball, celebrate our veterans, and enjoy a great evening at the ballpark.

Take your shot at dunking local community leaders while supporting organizations that make a difference in our area. We look forward to seeing you there!

Over the last year, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside the Legion of St. Michael LEMC.

I’ve watched firsthand the hours, miles, planning, fundraising, and commitment they pour into supporting communities across Minnesota. Most people only see the events. They don’t see everything it takes to make that impact possible.

I know a handful of these guys personally. They are some of the kindest, hardest-working, most respectful people I know.

They’re the first to step up when something needs to get done, they’re always willing to help, and somehow they still know how to have a good time while doing it. They’re hilarious, genuine, and the kind of people you’re proud to call friends.

Since I first walked into the VFW 14 years ago, this place has always felt like home to me. Not because of the building, but because of the people.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of, and something I could have never done without the incredible people I have the privilege of working alongside every day, is helping create an environment where that feeling exists for others too.

This is what our VFW is supposed to be.

Not just somewhere people come for a drink, but a place where people come together to support one another. A place that honors those who came before us, invests in the future, and continues serving something bigger than themselves.

If I’m proud of anything, it’s that we’re rebuilding that reputation. That organizations like the Legion of St. Michael feel at home here. That people are once again looking at the VFW as a place that makes a positive impact in the community.

So thank you.

To the Legion of St. Michael, to everyone who rode, volunteered, donated, sponsored, and supported the Schmidt-Berger Memorial Ride, and to everyone who continues to give their time to make our community better.

And to every community out there, if you get the chance to welcome these men and women in, do it.

Their uniforms may be off, but their commitment to serving others, and the heart behind it, never left.

Today is the day‼️

The 2nd Annual Schmidt-Berger Memorial Ride is here, and whether you’re riding, supporting, volunteering, or stopping by for the day, everyone is welcome.

We are incredibly thankful and honored to once again work alongside the Legion of St. Michael LEMC MN to support our community while helping raise funds for the Ridgewater Law Enforcement Scholarship.

Together, we honor the memories of Reed Schmidt and Trevor Berger while investing in the future of law enforcement and service to others.

Join us at the Post for a day of riding, fellowship, food, a silent auction, a double meat raffle, and music by Jason Christianson throughout the afternoon and evening.
