We’re a local business working to support our community during a global pandemic.
We take the potential spread of pathogens very seriously. Common surfaces are sprayed with isopropyl alcohol, hand sanitizer is available in common areas, and social distancing markers are clearly visible on the floor. We are intent on providing a safe venue for our artists and a safe shopping environment for customers of the shop. In addition to our disinfection efforts, we wish to further lessen the spread of respiratory droplets in the shop and as such, facial coverings must be worn by non-vocalists (this includes the crew running the show) while inside of the building. In addition, all vocalists MUST provide their own microphone. We cannot have more than 10 people at a time in the shop and as such we ask that performers DO NOT BRING GUESTS unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.
Sponsorship and Compensation
Current sponsorship is limited to on-line cross promotion from multiple local businesses and beer from The Virginia Beer Company (VBC). VBC and our other sponsors such as Two Drummers Smokehouse and IOTA are helping us to promote to a wider audience in order to up viewership and potentially, tips. THIS IS A TIP BASED GIG. In order to get tipped, performers need to have a digital tip bucket setup prior to the show. 10% of the gross tips will be calculated at midnight following the broadcast and sent to the shop owner [email protected]. The crew running the show will be made up of volunteers and the shop owner is the only entity taking a percentage to help cover overhead.
The Show
Performance time is ONE HOUR from start to finish, not including encores (if requested). Performances start at the following times:
Thursday: 7:30pm
Friday: 7:30pm
Saturday: 5:00pm
Sunday: 11am
The broadcast begins promptly at the times listed above. Because this is a scheduled, live broadcast show, there cannot be any room for error or flexibility with respect to start times. Performers should arrive 1 to 1&1/2 hours before broadcast for setup and soundcheck.
The Set List
There isn’t a lot of room for dead air. The show runners will fill up as much airtime as possible with commercials and banter, but it’s important to keep our audience entertained and engaged with the music. You know what your bangers are, give the people what they want. There are no set breaks.
The Venue
Retro Daddio is a retail shop located at 6610-V Mooretown Road in York County, VA. Parking and load in is in the back of the shop.
