https://redantspantsmusicfestival.com/ The Red Ants Pants Music Festival was founded in 2011. It is designed to bring people together and is a program of the 501(c)(3) Red Ants Pants Foundation. Our non-profit is in support of women’s leadership, working family farms and ranches, and rural communities. We use proceeds from the festival to fund our grant cycle and run our timber skills and women’s leadership events. In 2011, 6,000 fans came to celebrate rural Montana in a cow pasture. Over the years, attendees have enjoyed headliners including Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Charley Pride, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Keb' Mo', Lucinda Williams, and Dwight Yoakam. The festival continues its success into its fifteenth year July 23-26, 2026, aiming to improve upon the authentic, rich community culture attendees enjoy in the cow pasture. One stage, some mighty big talent.

Over the years, we’ve had the joy of welcoming some truly incredible artists to the Red ants Pants Stage. From Mandy Fer (with Allison Russell in 2022) and Brandi Carlile (2014) to Gillian Welch & David Rawlings (2025), Ken Pomeroy (2026), and Molly Tuttle (2026)— we’re proud to have shared a little piece of their musical journeys.

Somewhere along the way, coworkers became friends, friends became family, and the festival became home.

Our festival staff are more than the people who make it all happen — they’re the people who show up for each other, year after year, through the long days, late nights, big laughs, and everything in between.

The Red Ants Pants family runs deep. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our second runner-up from this year’s Side Stage competition, Lost Canyons, is one Montana band we’re excited to keep an eye on.

Nestled in the mountains of Bozeman, this indie rock outfit brings driving melodies, vibey guitars, and one hell of a live show. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes of the Last Best Place, their sound blends indie, folk, and rock into something distinctly their own.

They’ve already shared stages with artists like Hozier, Mt. Joy, Kacey Musgraves, Lake Street Dive, and the Lil Smokies—and with an award-winning sound and plenty more ahead, Lost Canyons is just getting started.
