🎨🎶 Dreyfoos alumna Michelle Sherman helps bring Sleeping Beauty and the Orchestra to life!

This fall, Palm Beach Symphony will present its original production of Sleeping Beauty and the Orchestra, featuring the beloved music of Tchaikovsky and enchanting illustrations by Dreyfoos School of the Arts alumna Michelle Sherman (Visual Arts ’01). .sherman.artist

A South Florida artist, educator, author and illustrator, Michelle created the artwork that will appear on screen throughout the performance, blending visual art, storytelling and live orchestral music to introduce a new generation to the magic of classical music. ✨

📅 Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m.
📍 Duncan Theatre at Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth
🎟️ Tickets start at $10 for students and $20 for adults.

🎶 Calling all Dreyfoos music seniors!

Applications are now open for the 2027 Lisa Bruna B-Major Award from Palm Beach Symphony! Palm Beach Symphony

Through this annual program, one to three Palm Beach County high school seniors planning to pursue a degree in music will receive an advanced-level instrument or major accessory, such as a bow or head joint, to support them as they prepare for college auditions and continue their musical studies.

Eligible students must be current high school seniors, Palm Beach County residents, in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and plan to enter a college-level music degree program. Students may self-nominate or be nominated by a music teacher or private instructor.

📅 Application Deadline: Sunday, October 11, 2026
🎼 Auditions: Wednesday, October 28, 2026

Supporting young artists means supporting the whole student.

Throughout Arts in Education Week, we’ve shared just a few of the ways the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation helps enhance the student experience at , a public arts high school.

Through the generosity of our donors and community, Foundation support includes:

🎓 More than $790,000 in student scholarships in 2025
🎭 More than $400,000 in support for Artists in Residence
💙 $50,000 for the Ray of Light Program
📚 Funding for SAT and College Boot Camps, helping participating students increase their SAT scores by an average of 256 points

From developing their artistry to preparing for college and what comes next, we’re proud to help provide opportunities and resources that support Dreyfoos students throughout their educational journey.

🌟 Student Spotlight: Brandon Liquerman 🌟

Congratulations to Dreyfoos Theatre student Brandon Liquerman, Class of 2027, on his outstanding experience at the Florida American Legion Boys State leadership program in Tallahassee!

During the weeklong program, Brandon gained firsthand experience in state and local government, was elected to the House of Representatives, helped organize a rally for the gubernatorial debate, and was appointed Director of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities.

To top off an incredible week, Brandon was also selected to receive the Excellence in the Executive Branch Scholarship. 👏

“This program was life changing for me and I can definitely see myself running for public office in the future.”

We are so proud to see Brandon representing Dreyfoos with leadership, curiosity, and ambition!

🎨✨ ARTS EDUCATION BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

New technology. New possibilities. 💻🎨

Thanks to a generous donation from Ellen Liman, the Digital Arts & Photography and Visual Arts departments at and were able to purchase 12 new Mac computers!

For students working in digital art, photography, and visual arts, access to current technology provides another tool to create, experiment, and develop the skills they’ll carry into college and future creative careers.

As a public arts high school, opportunities like these are strengthened through private support. The Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation is proud to help connect the generosity of our donors with the needs of our students and arts departments.

Congratulations to Brandon Norris (Band ’11), who performs as TC Silk, on the independent release of his first full-length album, Life is Unfair

The album’s rollout also brought together some . Brandon collaborated with fellow alum Lauren Carey (’07) of Ballet Florida on a music video celebrating summer in Florida. Lauren choreographed the piece and performed alongside a fellow Ballet Florida dancer. .florida

We love seeing Dreyfoos alumni continuing to create, collaborate, and support one another long after graduation. 💙

This week, Dreyfoos Dance students are learning from Broadway dancer and choreographer Ray Mercer who is joining Dreyfoos Dance Dreyfoos Dance as a guest artist!

Now in his 18th year as a dancer and fight captain in Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway, Ray is also choreographer for The Ailey School’s Professional Division and resident choreographer for PHILADANCO.

As a public arts high school, Dreyfoos A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts offers its students extraordinary opportunities to develop their talents. With the help of funding secured by the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Foundation, guest artist experiences like this bring accomplished working professionals directly to students, providing real-world insight, mentorship and instruction.

During Arts in Education Week, we’re proud to celebrate opportunities that help Dreyfoos students grow as artists and see where their talents can take them. 💙🩰
