Hi Facebook friends, just a quick update

We are working to figure out how to safely open our dining room. I don’t expect we will do so any time soon, as our air conditioners would blow air from one group of unmasked diners to the next, and to our staff. Safety is our first responsibility. Also, please understand if you call for takeout, we may tell you we have suspended service and ask that you call back in 15-20 minutes. We do this to keep the flow of orders from overwhelming the kitchen, which leads to a reduction of quality, and unacceptably long waits for orders. We are trying not to make promises we can’t fulfill. We want to make sure every meal that Does get ordered, is executed to our best standards. Please know that my line cooks and I are working at our fastest speed, often for 12-13 hours non stop and we are doing it while wearing our masks..... 😷. We hate to turn away orders, but we hate to disappoint our customers by falling short on our standards more

Hello Friends, As many of you know, The State of NH has set June 15 as the date to re-open dining rooms accross the state. While I realize it may come as a dissappointment to some, We will NOT be opening our dining rooms on the 15th.

Instead, we will continue with our OUTDOOR dining, and our Take Out dining. I am pleased to say that we will be offering ON LINE ORDERING very soon, more on that later.

My Decision NOT to open the dining rooms inside is based on my responsibility to keep my staff (and Family) as safe as I can. No profit will justify one of my people getting sick. At this time, our country is seeing an increase in Corona cases, NOT a decrease. I hear people talking about Corona being "Over" because the Government is opening the state....
These two conflicting circumstances give me great pause in moving to further open. So, Here we are.

Let me assure you, I want VERY much to get back to as close to normal as we can. I want Very much to be able to serve people inside, without concern for the weather, or the Bugs, NOT 100 yards from the kitchen with an obsticle course of doors, steps, and uneven ground to navigate with every tray, each drink, and every additional tartar sauce. We will get there I'm Sure. Just not yet. In the mean time, We are working hard to fine tune our operation so that we can provide you with Great food, that is hot and fresh, either in a safe outdoor dining area, or your safe home. We are all in this together, so please, wear a mask in public. Even if you don't feel like you need it. Wear one to protect the people around you from YOU, because you may be one of the many asymptomatic carriers out there. If Everyone wore a mask, and washed their hands regularly, Doctors believe we could reduce the spread by 50 -80 %. Please do your part.

OK Jake's Fans. Sorry to change things around, but, we are trying to bring you the most fluid, comfortable version of Jake's Seafood that we can. That said, We are going to reverse our Reservation only policy. In order to keep the limited number of seats we have, gainfully occupied, we are going to try a First come, First serve seating strategy. NO Reservations required. When you have a hankering for some great food, swing on down to Jake's. When you park, call us and let us know what parking space your in, and how many in your party. We will do our very best to get you seated and fed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Again, appologies for changing our policy, If you already made a reservation, we will of coarse honor it. OUTDOOR Dining is HERE!
We are excited to actually serve our Friends and Neighbors a sit down meal at Jake's.
Some helpful pointers:
Please call us to reserve a table. We will make reservations up to a week in advance. or, we will seat you now IF WE HAVE A FREE TABLE.
PLEASE, wear a mask when moving about. take it off at the table ( We have provided ample distance between tables, and distance guides so people can stay safe and eat)
MASKS are required if you go inside to use the bathroom on the DECK. For the safety of my staff, DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING WITHOUT A MASK. We strongly encourage everyone to wear a mask when in public. It's inconvenient, uncomfortable, awkward, difficult to breath, BUT, if everyone uses the best possible protocol, WE can stay open, stay healthy and get through this. When you feel like it's asking a lot to put a mask on, consider this: Im wearing my mask, 12+ hours a day, in a hot kitchen. My staff are wearing their masks, for long shifts. We are doing it for you, and for us.
If my staff takes ill, i will likely have to shut down.... You won't get your favorite seafood, and I won't make the money I need to to carry this business through the winter... The stakes are high my friends. That said, call now to reserve your table, we've got LOBSTERS AND STEAMERS and tasty Margaritas to be enjoyed in our colorful Outdoor dining room! See You at Jake's

Friends and Neighbors:
Hello! Today we open our restaurant in a whole new world. We want you to know that while we have maintained a quiet on line presence for the last two months, we have, like everyone, been working towards today.
While many of the hygene and safe food handling practices that we have worked with for many years will keep you safe, we have expanded those measures dramatically in this new age. We open today for take out ONLY. We have marked our parking lot so that each space has a number. Call us, place your order, park in a numbered spot, call us back to tell us your parking space number and we will come to your car for payment, and to bring you your food.

As much as we want to see all of you, as much as we would love to chat and catch up on the last two months, please understand that we are not allowing customers to come in the building at this time. We respectfully request that you wait in your car, we have our running shoes on, and we are ready to serve you.

We will be offering curbside service only, until Monday (Weather Permiting) when we will open our Outside dining area, with table service. This will be by reservation only ( State mandate)

We are anxious, like everyone to resume some semblance of normal life. We intend to move forward carefully, following the best known Medical practices to keep our customers and staff safe. We ask all of our customers to be patient, kind and considerate. We are working with an entirely new set of rules, operating with a slew of unknowns. We all come to work with the intent of doing our very best to provide you with great food and warm, friendly and efficient service. To those of you who are required to wait a bit longer, or to those that feel our efforts to protect you and Us are over blown, I say be patient. Under estimating the danger could very well lead to our team mates getting sick, which would shut us down.. The stakes are too high not to take every precaution.
