Hey Rail Rats. We’ve missed you. We are hosting a fundraiser for our sweet girl Sarah Macey. You all know her as your favorite Split Rail bartender. She is our family and the SRT day one GOAT. Sarah was an integral part of the team straight through from open to close. She has been going through some seriously tough times these past few months, but those that know her know she is tougher. We are determined to help alleviate as much of the financial stress as possible because Sarah deserves the whole freakin world, NOT to stress about $ while she’s fighting for her life. Come hang with us Feb 19th from 4-7. We will have a 50/50, Basket Raffles, Live Music and I think Trace is running some sort of deviled egg eating contest? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Any questions contact

We are closing out The Split Rail Tavern chapter with full hearts and so much gratitude. I don’t know how to put into words what the past 8 years have meant to those of us that called this place home. It may sound like we are being melodramatic, but it’s impossible to even scratch the surface. The Split Rail community, both staff & guests, have been our safety net, our navigation system & our whole entire heart through it all. SRT has served as our soft place to land when s**t goes sideways as well as the place to celebrate all of our most special moments. And inbetween these 2 extremes It was also the perfect place to go when you needed connection and knew you’d find a friend, good conversation, great music, and kick ass food & beverages. And for those of us who made it our home base we found the type of connections that help you pick up the pieces & put your life back together when things fall apart. We quite simply created a space where we lived for celebrating and supporting one another. Truly the coworkers and customers of every restaurant operators dreams. The Split Rail crew that we lovingly dubbed “The Rail Rats” has taken humaning to the next level. The most interesting, generous, loving, ethical, talented and hilarious bunch of weirdos you could ever hope to call your people. And the brains. Intelligence and personality to spare. We have all learned so much from each other. It has been a privilege to be a part of this magical family. It has been a rough road and we all have made so many sacrifices and still, we would do it all over again.

Attention Rail Rats. We recently decided to close on Mondays but our customers are telling us we must open for Eagles Monday Night Football on 9/25. So I am conducting a survey- should we open? As most of you are aware Split Rail Tavern was shut down by the Chester County Health Department last week. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize for disappointing our valued customers. We feel we need to take responsibility & address these issues with you. We had several violations, the most egregious of which was the appearance of roaches in our building. This occurrence was the result of an ongoing infestation in the apartments adjacent to our building. 2 weeks ago the landlord of these apartments ripped the carpets out as a mitigation tactic, disposed of the infested carpeting in our trash receptacles and sent his problem to us. We went to the Health Department because we needed help. They came out and shut us down because the situation was dire. A positive result of the closure is the landlord of the neighboring apartments has given us access to treat his properties after 5 years of declining our requests to do so. We have taken this past week to seek professional help, exterminate extensively, deep clean every corner of the restaurant and to seal off the passages between the two buildings. We have also made major changes in management to properly address and rectify the many other violations we received. We can not stress enough how upset & sorry we are that we let things come to this. We have spent 8 years building a reputation and community that we value and letting you down hits hard. However, we are pleased to report that we passed re-inspection today and were deemed fit to reopen all operations by the Health Department. The Health Department has been a helpful, invaluable resource every step of the way as we navigated this reopening process. We will be open starting tomorrow 3pm-Close with a full bar and an abbreviated dinner menu. We need time to staff our kitchen, get food deliveries and prep before we can resume our full menu. We would love it if you came out to see us, we have missed you all. Thank you to all of our amazing customers that have reached out with words of support and encouragement when we needed it most. We look forward to serving you.
