We’re celebrating Main Line Today Restaurant Week through November 14 with three courses, your choice of dishes, and plenty of reasons to linger over another glass.

DINNER | $55

Start with our Roasted Beet Salad, settle into Braised Pork Shoulder over creamy polenta with red w**e porcini sugo, and finish with Apple Cake. Just one delicious way to enjoy any three courses from our full fall dinner menu.

WEEKEND LUNCH | $35

Where the name Turks Head comes from 🍷🪢

Last week our founder stood beneath a sign that read EST 1760: the Turk’s Head Chop House in Dublin (Turks Head Dublin ). It’s one of a family of taverns that share our name and go back centuries.

The name 🏰
“Turk’s Head” is one of Britain’s oldest tavern names. Like its cousin, the Saracen’s Head, it dates to the era of the Crusades, when returning travelers brought stories, and inn names, home from the East. It’s also the name of a sailor’s knot: the Turk’s head knot, woven to look like a turban. When few people could read, a carved head or a knotted rope over the door told sailors and travelers where to find a drink and a meal. That knot inspired the Turks Head W**es logo, the one you see on every bottle we pour. 🪢

England 🇬🇧
In Exeter, Turks Head Exeter sits beside the medieval Guildhall, on a spot where there’s been an inn and pub for more than 700 years. Legend says Charles Dickens had his own corner there.

Ireland 🇮🇪
In Dublin, the Chop House opened on Parliament Street in 1760. Its doorway mosaic of a fierce, red-bearded figure with a dagger in his teeth carries on the old tavern-sign tradition.

West Chester, PA 🇺🇸
Just two years later, in 1762, Phineas Eachus was licensed to keep a tavern at Chester County crossroads - High and Market St. By 1768 it hung the sign of the Turk’s Head Tavern. A village grew around it, then a courthouse, and the town itself was called Turk’s Head until it became known of its current name, West Chester.

Turks Head W**es 🍷
We named Turks Head W**es to pay homage to our town and the tavern where it all began. We pour our own California w**e instead of ale, but the tradition is the same: a table, a glass, and good company.

While in Dublin, they had to grab a pint at The Brazen Head, said to be Ireland’s oldest pub, and quickly spotted badges from home on the wall: West Chester Police and the Chester County Sheriff’s Office! 🍺🚔

For our founder, bringing our bottles to Dublin and sharing the moment with her family was a full-circle moment. 🥂 Cheers to centuries of Turk’s Heads, and to the stories we’re all still pouring.

It’s not every day a Phillies player starts his own w**e label. ⚾🍷

2008 World Series Champion Joe Blanton traded the mound for a vineyard on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. On Thursday, November 12, he’s bringing his Selah W**es to West Chester for one night only.

Join Joe and our founder Allison Owen in the CRU Club for an intimate five-course dinner where Selah W**es meets Turks Head W**es. Five w**es, including Joe’s 97-point 2016 Howell Mountain Cabernet, and a few stories from the mound along the way.

Fresh yellow oyster mushrooms from Kennett Square are making their way into our Gnocchi Sardi this weekend!

What’s Gnocchi Sardi? Delicate semolina pasta shells with butternut squash, locally grown mushrooms and fragrant sage. Fall on a plate.

Our 2023 Big Valley District Sauvignon Blanc. Unlike your typical Sauvignon Blanc, this barrel-fermented beauty offers notes of warm baking spices, vanilla and ripe stone fruit.
