🔹🔹FREE LIVE MUSIC LINE UP 🔹🔹Join us as we welcome Rolando Matias Trio + 1 to the Whisperz Speakeasy stage on Thursday, September 17th from 7-10pm with a blend of exciting, upbeat jazz! This ensemble features Rolando Matias on percussion alongside Moses Mabarak on keys, Curtis Rodriguez on tenor sax, and the legendary Eddie Berkshire on bass! Join us for a fabulous set of jazz, delectable small plates, and delicious cocktails and mocktails! Be sure to arrive early - this show is sure to pack the house and get your feet moving!
🔹Join us on Friday, September 18th, from 9p-12 am as we welcome G. Scott Jones & the Freedom Ensemble back to the Whisperz Speakeasy stage for a groovin', swingin', funky jazz experience you don't want to miss! This awesome ensemble represents an eclectic mix of highly talented, highly respected musicians: G. Scott Jones - Trombone and Tuba; Brenda Flowers - Trombone and Vocals; Kayla Upthegrove - Saxophone; Moses Mabarak - Piano; Eddie Brookshire - Bass; and Shohei Shibata - Drums.
🔹Join us on Saturday, September 19th as we welcome musicians to both the Whisperz Speakeasy stages! Taking the original stage from 7-8:30pm is renowned saxophonist Gunnar Gidner performing a sultry, soulful solo set. Gunnar Gidner is saxophonist based in Cincinnati, OH. He has studied music at CCM and UMKC conservatories of music. He has performed on stage with Bobby Watson, Joel Frahm, Eric Alexander, Steve Davis, Mike Wade, Bob Bowman, and more. Gunnar has a strong love for Swing, Be-Bop, and Hard-Bop music from the 1920’s to the 1970’s. He also plays a variety of music, all the way from Bossa Nova to Funk & Rock.
🔹He will be followed by Glad Rags & Giggle Water from 9p til midnight with jazz, blues & lounge favorites on our new, expanded stage inside the Onyx Lounge. This ensemble features Thomas Downs, Bill Burns, and Tom Bresnick alongside vocalist Tori Lee. Be sure to grab your GIGGLE WATER and settle in early. Seating is first come first serve. Don't forget the secret password!

🔹🔹September 15th marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month and this week’s password at Whisperz Speakasy honors the revolutionary contribution this Afro-Cuban beat gave to jazz, blues, R&B, and almost any modern music genre:

🥁🥁the Clave Rhythm🥁🥁

▶With its roots in Western Africa, the clave rhythm made its way to Cuba and eventually America, where it became a staple of salsa, rumba, mambo, chacha and eventually gave birth to CuBop in NYC in the 1940s. The clave rhythm influences many modern musical genres today. You can hear it in songs like "Manteca" by Dizzie Gillespie & Chano Pozo, "Tanga" by Machito, and modern day hits like "Smooth" by Santana and "Havana" by Camilo Cabello.

Featuring a stunning full bar, indoor cigar lounge, and an even larger stage for even more FREE LIVE MUSIC. Pictures cannot do it justice- you'll just have to see for yourself.
