🌪️ Kristi is usually showing off her dance moves, but she sat still long enough to take her best Vortex Birthday photo in this last week. Happy birthday Kristi! You rock.

Give it up for the West Bend Fire Fighters. Thanks for saving lives every day!

Today three members of blue shift made an appearance at Vortex Pickleball where they were hosting a tournament in honor of Mike McGuire. A little over a year ago, Mike suffered sudden cardiac arrest secondary to a heart attack while playing a game here. Thanks to quick actions from bystanders Mike is here today to participate in the tournament! They quickly called 911, obtained an on-site AED, and started CPR. After one shock with the AED, Mike’s pulse returned and he was regaining consciousness right as our crews arrived on scene. Our crew worked quickly to stabilize Mike and ultimately transport him to a cardiac cath lab for life saving care. Three of the five paramedics on scene that day were able to meet Mike and his family, and give a brief introduction to AED use to the crowd in attendance. There is no doubt, that Mike is here with us today thanks to the brave bystanders who acted to save his life!

If you are interested in learning CPR, we offer classes! Registration is available on the City of West Bend website.

Thank you to the Brew State Baggers that were in the tournament this past weekend. Some of our Vortex picklers got in on the action toward the end of the night. Of course, it was when they were done playing pickleball. Thanks to all that were part of the March Madness Watch Party!
