A big thank you to everyone who joined us this morning for our CPR and AED Training at The Lakes!

We had a fantastic turnout with great questions, meaningful conversations, and valuable hands-on learning experiences. Thank you to Terry Reck, Bryan Bisson, and the Wentworth Fire Department, South Dakota for taking the time to educate our community and help us be better prepared when emergencies happen.

Participants learned CPR techniques, proper AED use, tourniquet application, and how to respond to a variety of emergency situations that could occur on the lake, on the golf course, at work, or at home. The knowledge and confidence gained today could truly help save a life someday.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated emergency responders and educational resources right here in our Lakes community.

As a reminder, AEDs are located throughout many public buildings and businesses in our area. At The Lakes, we currently have an AED located in the basement stairwell at Lakes Bar & Grill. We are also working to obtain a second AED that will be installed at the new restroom complex near Hole #6 on The Lakes Golf Course.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and to those who helped make this training possible. Being prepared makes our entire community safer.

❤️ Free CPR & AED Training at The Lakes ❤️

The Lakes Bar & Grill and Lakes Golf Course will be hosting a free CPR and AED training session on Friday, May 29th at 9:00 AM in the basement of The Lakes.

This training is open to everyone in the community, and all are welcome to join and receive certification. The training itself is free. If you would like a physical certification card, there will be a $25 fee for the card.

This session is being offered to help educate our community on how to respond in an emergency and how to save a life.

The Lakes Bar & Grill and Lakes Golf Course currently have an AED device located in the basement of the building. We are also planning to add a second AED device to the community at the new bathroom/drink shack between holes 5 and 6 once that project is completed.

We hope you’ll join us for this important training opportunity. You never know when knowing CPR or how to use an AED could make all the difference.

For the Historical category, think big moments in American history — Washington crossing the Delaware, raising the flag at Iwo Jima, the Apollo moon landing, or your own creative tribute to America’s story.
