I was looking through old posts from when I had Alley Kats. Came across the story of how it got its name. Thought I would share because it is so special. I still dream of having an Alley Cats Stage somewhere to promote music for local talent-Who knows; Sharon may have been a country legend given the right circumstances.

Anyway, here is the story/post as told in 2014. Sharon is on the left and Gloria is on the right....now those are two pretty ladies!!

My cousin Sharon would have turned 50 today, so I want to share the story of how the name Alley Kats came to be.
These two are the original Alley Cats and here is their story; as told to me by Gloria (my sister). Now keep in mind that Sharon was an amazing singer and she and Gloria were first cousins and BEST FRIENDS .
"Sharon heard this song called Stray Dogs & Alley Cats by Harley Allen. Which talks about the way he may not be quite as good as some Christians think he should be; but he thinks and hopes that God will let Stray Dogs & Alley Cats like him in.
We were out riding around listening to the song, because she said it reminded her of us. We must have listened to it a hundred times, as we rode. Then she looked at me and said “ What do you think God will do with Alley Cats like me?” to which I replied; He will send Great Danes like me to take care of you.” We both laughed and argued over who would be the Great Dane. From that day forward we called ourselves Alley Cats!
I might add; that all 100 times we listened; she sang loud and clear and knew every word and every note. She sang as if she was on stage singing to Heaven!"

Don't forget the old Alley Kats is available for family gatherings, baby showers, bridal showers, receptions, etc.
