"Between 1964 and 1972 Wayne demolished 77 acres of historic storefronts and homes in the Michigan Avenue island. This was in the name of Urban Renewal, clearing the land so that developers could come in and rebuild with newer more modern buildings. Unfortunately demolition proceeded without many developer commitments, and by 1972 Downtown Wayne was largely left a grassy field. This is the reason there are not many historic buildings left in town."

In addition, as hundreds of families along with businesses and even churches were driven off and destroyed a handful of people made a great deal of money.

Amazingly among them were those that did not make money but applied themselves with a fefvor and a fever that is remarkable to learn about.

As if the destruction of the community were a rewarding life's work.

Trump Administration moves to squash free speech in responding to Data Center rampge
