The date timestamp on this photo was October 3rd, 2021.

This was the last photo my father would take, the last fire he would ever sit by, the last sunset, the last night he would go to bed and wake up again the next morning.

You never know when tonight is our last night. Tomorrow isn't promised.

But it warms my heart to know that this is how he enjoyed his final evening on Earth, his happy place.

I came across some photos today I didn't even know existed. They were apparently from my dad's phone and saved to the cloud. As I started going through them the tears filled my eyes. I kept swiping as having no idea what to expect next. But what I found was him smiling, and living life the best way he knew how.

There were so many photos of his back yard, his garden, deck, birds, rainbows, jet streams in the sky. I felt I was living through him for just a few moments, seeing the world though his eyes.

He truly did appreciate the simplest things in life, and it's eye opening for me to almost feel him close again.

So go out into the world, and take as many photos of as many things you like. Because one day, those moments caught in time will mean to world to someone else.
