Good Friday - a day of deep reflection, a turning point, mourning, and sacrifice, an emotionally heavy Christian holiday.
On Fridays, many Americans wear red to "Remember Everyone Deployed" to show support for our military.
Every Friday at Run-Inn Erin's, wear your favorite Run-Inn Erin's gear and receive 50 cents off each of your drinks.
This Friday hits different than others, not only because I am a Christian, but also an American, mother, and boss.
Below are pictures of Iven Smothers and two of his best friends. I've had the honor of watching them grow into the amazing young men they are today, as a second mother, and a boss, teaching them my industry as bartenders. They are all wearing some of the uniforms they have worn over the years.
Nate and Xavier were not done with uniforms, as they both chose to wear the most honorable uniform yet! This week, both Nate Postma and Xavier Quintero leave home for basic training. I could not be more proud of each of these young men. Iven Smothers continues to work in the trades while supporting his best friends as they enlist in the military, Xavier (second generation) in the Navy and Nathan in the Army with aspirations to become a ranger.
Tonight is Nate's last night behind the bar. If you are out and about, stop in and give him well wishes and mad respect. If you were in the service, stop by and share some of your military stories.
It is such an amazing, heartfelt, prideful, and honor to thank these young men for their service.
God bless us and God bless Americans.
