And that is the season. Thank you so much to everyone who we met, and everyone that had come out to the fairs we went to this year. It's been a great year with a few new events and locations. I would like to thank all the venues that allowed me to set up my forge, make a bunch of noise, smoke out the other vendors, have a bunch of fun, and occasionally leave scortch marks on what's left of their grass where I was working. I would especially like to thank Jessica, who makes it so I can concentrate on the art of hitting hot metal by manning the merch tent. Now to take a weekend or 2, take stock, and begin preparing for next year.
I will still be doing the weekly Twitch streams, Tuesday nights 6 PM...ish. Log on, say hi, and watch this wisconsin blacksmith in his native habitat. There may be a big new piece of equipment coming this off season, keep checking in.
And now to sum up the season in pictures.

Those working artists? Yeah one of them is me. I'll have the forge lit at 1:30. For a real treat, stick around after dark and watch the sparks really fly!

So a few holes didn't work out where I had them planned but I'll pretty happy with the torch build.

Day 2 of the torch build. This is going to finish with me lighting it up. It's going to get assembled tonight.

Every now and then I have a night in the forge that absolutely blows me away. Tonight was one of them. I started it with a rough idea, thoughts on how to accomplish it, and low expectations. I was going to see what I could learn while trying to build a mideval style torch. I started by trying to wrap angle iron. I worked but I didn't have the right size piece. I started trying to neck down a piece of 4 inch pipe, which was kinda working but not quick. I then stumbled on a piece of 3 inch welded pipe. This was the ticket. I worked it down, then all hell started breaking loose and the design started getting more interesting. What happened, live on the twitch stream, was me forcing the single most complex piece I've done yet. I don't mean the most complex, I mean out of a SINGLE PIECE. The original stock is right next to itわ as is the angle iron attempt.
