Hello everyone! Amber here!

Sorry we’ve been a little quiet on Facebook! I’ve been in California spending some much-needed time with family, but I’m back and excited for everything happening at Everett’s!

One of my favorite things about traveling is getting to experience other restaurants, taste incredible food, see hospitality from a guest’s perspective, and bring home new ideas. Sometimes it’s learning what to do, sometimes it’s learning what NOT to do! Either way, I never take those opportunities for granted. There’s always something to learn in this industry, and I absolutely love that!

We have a GREAT Thursday ahead of us!

We’re kicking off the day hosting a large group in our beautiful dining room overlooking the lake and mountains! Courtney has been working hard getting everything ready, and the room looks absolutely gorgeous. Thank you, Courtney!

TONIGHT AT EVERETT’S!

Songwriters in the Round | 6:30–9 PM

Uncharted Path is bringing another incredible evening of live music to Everett’s! Featuring Carl Besece, Silvertooth, Schaeffer Mueller, and Christina Napolean.

Even better, proceeds are being donated to local veterans! We love seeing our community come together for great music and a great cause.

SEAHAWKS vs. BRONCOS | 4:15 PM Alaska Time!

Thursday Night Football! We’ll have the game on in the Bistro, NOT the Loft, so come grab a seat, enjoy some great food, and cheer on the Seahawks!

Whether you’re joining us for a meal, live music, football, a celebration, or simply to enjoy the view, we love having you here.

I say it all the time, but I truly mean it. We are so incredibly grateful for this community. For every reservation, every event, every visit, every kind word, and every person who continues to support our team and this beautiful property.

THANK YOU!

We have so many exciting things happening, and I can’t wait to share more with all of you!

See you at Everett’s!

I’ll never forget waiting on this table.

It was years ago when I worked at Simon & Seafort’s. A family and their friends had gathered at Table 1 in the dining room for a Celebration of Life.

I had the honor of taking care of them that day.

At the end of their time together, one of his daughters handed me something.

She told me that after her dad passed away, she had been going through his things and found a handwritten note in one of his drawers. She had typed it up, made copies, laminated them, and was giving them to people.

She handed one to me and said, “I think you would like this.”

And I absolutely loved it.

There was something about that exchange I’ll never forget. It was so kind. So genuine. And I think somehow she knew I needed it at that moment.

It felt like a gift her father had left behind that she could keep giving.

And all these years later, I still have it.

I worked at Simon & Seafort’s from 2009 until 2020, and when I think about those years—and now my years at Everett’s—I think about how many little moments like this have shaped me.

Hospitality is so much more than food and drinks.

We get invited into people’s lives.

Birthdays. Engagements. Anniversaries. First dates. Business meetings. Family dinners. Celebrations of Life.

Sometimes we are there for the happiest day of someone’s life. Sometimes we are there for one of the hardest.

And we may never know the impact of one small interaction.

We might not be able to make 100% of people happy 100% of the time. That’s life. But we can keep showing up. We can keep caring. We can keep trying to make someone’s day a little better.

That little laminated card has stayed with me for years.

It was a gift from a man I never knew, given to me by his daughter at a table I happened to be taking care of.

And now I get to keep giving it too.

That’s hospitality to me.

Small moments that add up over time.

Be kind. Take care of people. You never know which moment they’ll carry with them for the rest of their life.

I know I’ve carried this one.
Thank you to my long lost guests from table 1.

Tonight was SO amazing. đź’—

Engagements. Board meetings. Family celebrations. Anniversaries. Friends gathering around the table. People celebrating life together.

THIS is hospitality.

It’s so much more than serving great food and drinks. It’s creating a place where people come together for the moments that matter, the big ones, the little ones, and everything in between.

To our team: THANK YOU. Nights like tonight take every single person working together, caring about the details, and taking care of people.

And to our community: thank YOU for continuing to choose Everett’s. For your celebrations, your meetings, your date nights, your families, and your special moments.

We never take it for granted that you choose to spend them with us.

What an incredible night. My heart is full. đź’—

Hey everyone, Amber here!

Yesterday at work, this beautiful little hummingbird came right up to the flowers.
My grandma always told me, “Look for me as hummingbirds and butterflies.”

So I noticed. 🪶

And it made me think about how incredibly grateful I am for this life, this opportunity, and this community.

There is so much happening right now. New team members coming on, new managers learning and growing, events being planned, people being trained, big announcements coming, and about a million daily things that still have to get done.

Some days it’s hard to balance all of it—to be a good leader, a good trainer, take care of the day-to-day, and still make room for the big ideas and the fun things that make this industry so special. Plus the most important job mom and wife. 💓

But then I look around.

Soon we’ll be preparing for our fourth Young Entrepreneur Expo on Small Business Saturday
1000$ already donated by one of the kindest souls I know! This is something we now get to do twice a year because of the amazing volunteers and programs like youth 360!!

Our Fire and flair Event that sold out!!!

I want our young people to thrive here. I want them to see opportunity in the Mat-Su Valley. I want them to create, build businesses, take chances, and know that their ideas matter. I want them to have reasons to stay—and if life takes them somewhere else, I want them to have reasons to come home, build their lives, and raise their families here.

The older I get, the more I think about where my grandparents and great-grandparents came from and the decisions they made that eventually led to me standing right here.

One mans decision (Jerry Neeser) believing in a place so special. Believing in me. Thank you Sir.

I’m lucky enough to know a lot of my family history, and one thing has become very clear to me:

One person can change the course of a family.

One opportunity can change a life.
One person believing in someone can change their direction.
One community investing in its young people can change generations.

There is still so much work to do, but I am so excited about what is ahead. I’m grateful for every team member working hard beside me, every new person joining us, every guest who walks through our doors, and every person in this community who continues to believe in what we are building.

And yesterday, I’m especially grateful for one tiny hummingbird that reminded me to look up for a minute and remember why all of it matters.

“I miss and love you Gram. I hope you’re proud of us.”

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love this industry SO much!

Our first Fire & Flair Student Culinary Competition brought together three teams — six incredibly talented young adults from right here in the Mat-Su Valley. Each team was challenged to create both a hot and a cold appetizer, and getting to taste what they created was such a fun experience. The food was incredible. The creativity, focus, teamwork and confidence these students brought into that kitchen was even better.

But Fire & Flair was never just about a cooking competition.

It was about giving young people an opportunity to be seen, be heard, be encouraged and know that there is a place for them in this industry.

That part is deeply personal to me.

I got my first restaurant job when I was 15 years old, and in so many ways, this industry saved my life. It gave me somewhere to belong. It helped keep me off the streets the best it could. It gave me responsibility, mentors, friendships and eventually a purpose. Hospitality opened doors for me that I never could have imagined at 15.

If we can do even a little bit of that for the next generation, then every hour that went into yesterday was worth it.

And there were A LOT of hours.

So many people gave their time, talent, energy, products, mentorship and love to make this happen. Our Everett’s team, our volunteers, our lake neighbors, the chefs and hospitality professionals who showed up for these students, US Foods, Bargreen Ellingson, NACE Anchorage, Alaska CHARR and everyone who helped behind the scenes — THANK YOU.

A very special thank you to Chef Marc Anthony Bynum and Gina Bynum for coming all the way from New York and believing in what we are trying to build. Having people with that level of experience invest their time into young people means more than I can put into words.

And to Chef Channing, Chef Rebecca, Chef, Rob, Chef Naomi & everyone who stepped into that kitchen to teach, encourage and work alongside these students — thank you.

There was laughter. There were nerves. There was a little friendly competition. There were beautiful plates of food. There were new relationships being built around a table.

And there were six young people who got to walk into a professional kitchen and show us what they could do.

That is Fire & Flair.

Real food. Real people. Brighter futures.

Yesterday was the beginning. I cannot wait to see what this becomes and how many young people we can reach in the years ahead.

To our six competitors: you should be incredibly proud. We certainly are. 👏👏👏👏👏

Thank you, ALASKA. It really does take a village — and ours showed up. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
