Sospeso Mediterranean Inspired all day spot on H Street in Washington, D.C. The name Sospeso comes from Caffè Sospeso, which literally means "suspended coffee."

Start your day with expertly crafted coffee and pastries, stop in for a classic porchetta sandwich in the afternoon, or finish your day with our fresh homemade pasta, paired with wine from carefully selected list, and an original house-infused vermouth cocktail. Inspired by the recipes of our grandparents and great-grandparents, as well as the sun-drenched countries and seas of Southern Europe, th

e Eastern Mediterranean, and North Africa, we choose fresh local ingredients to prepare simple and modern artisan dishes with beautifully defined flavors. Grilled fish served head to tail, mezes of taverns, and the highest quality olive oils and wines are Sospeso’s signature offerings. A seamless blend of original history and modern rustic design, Sospeso’s natural light-soaked industrial space evokes a refined dining experience with a unique sense of the comforts of the Mediterranean. This is a Neapolitan practice of someone anonymously paying for a coffee ahead for someone else in need. We look forward to carrying on the tradition. Come dine with us at our grand opening in 2016.

THANK YOU! We are grateful to have received so many kind messages, emails,and little notes. We realized that we have lost some followers even tho which we aren’t concerned but felt the need to highlight that We are closing our restaurant/event space on H St. but Sospeso as a brand will take a break and continue making and staying local to H street. We love our community and we aren’t giving up on it! We just have to prioritize other important things like rest and family time. Please keep sharing with your friends who have been to our space and experience our hospitality.
