JR's Bar JR's Bar is a pillar in DC's LGBTQ+ Community, serving amazing cocktails since 1986.

Originally opened in 1986, JR’s Bar has served DC’s LGBTQ+ community for more than 35 years right in the heart of Dupont. Today, JR’s is Washington, D.C.’s premier neighborhood video-bar, boasting 20 Flat Screen HD TVs, some of the most friendly bartenders in the city, and amazing drink specials everyday! JR’s Bar has been the recipient of multiple neighborhood and community awards, including previously being named as the Washington Blade’s "Best Happy Hour" 7 years in a row, “Best Neighborhood Bar” in 2011, and the Editor’s Choice for “Best Neighborhood Bar” in 2019. We were also honored to be recognized as one of Orbitz’s ‘Best LGBTQ Hangouts” for 2019. We look forward to serving you during your next visit to JR’s, whether you have called JR’s home for years or if you are visiting for the first time!
