Chai Latte feat. Allspice Dram

The amazing flavor-profile in this allspice dram has inspired a variety of drinks in my repertoire. But this one in particular can be enjoyed morning or night ☺️

The makings of a Sazerac…minus the bitters. Not sure if that’s sacrilegious.

Originally founded in New Orleans, by Antoine Peychaud, the sazerac is considered “America’s first cocktail”

Whats not to love about a classic?

I recently bartended a wedding, where I was serving a riff on an Old Fashioned. By the end of the night if I do the math, 60 Old Fashioned Cocktails = 50leven peeled oranges…or something like that.

To reduce waste, I decided to turn the used oranges into a cute garnish. Dehydrating fruit is always a great way to eliminate waste, by preserving.

Happy International Cocktail Day!

Did you know the day celebrates the first publication of the word “cocktail” in the New York tabloid, The Balance and Columbian Repository, in 1806.

Although the day is internationally recognized, I kept my ingredients for this Manhattan local with Rye Whiskey, and added .25 oz of cincque aperitivo. And naturally, a few dashes of .d allspice/coffee bitters

What will you be sipping today?

Old Fashioned Vermonter

One thing about Vermonters; we are proud of our maple heritage. Some may even call it obsession. Either way, we seize any opportunity to sweeten or enhance something with maple.

So naturally, I choose to swap out regular simple syrup for maple syrup, in my old fashioned. I suggest you give it a try, too.

The smoky margarita.

Tonight was another taco (well, nacho) Tuesday at my house. So naturally, I was looking to concoct the perfect margarita as a complement.

This mezcal margarita achieves that balance of smoky, sweet and tart that I love in a cocktail. I paired a vanilla-blood orange simple syrup with orange liqueur, and a hint of sage for extra warmth.

I haven’t picked out a name for this one yet. Comment below what you think fits!

If you are a friend of mine then you know that I’m a cognac queen 👑 So in order to highlight my favorite spirit, I am bringing you the first Garnish’d feature video.

In this series I will highlight a different spirit each episode, and give you my top 3 recipes that feature said ingredient.

One great thing about the recipes in this video is that they are incredibly simple, and easy to replicate at home. Since cognac is such a delicious drink on its own, and full of character, it doesn’t need too many mixers to make it go down smooth.

Special thanks to .kendyl and for helping me shoot and edit, and .cedes for providing the sounds to accompany.

Enjoy!
