Chef Lois was a friend, a fellow Trini, and a culinary icon of DC who fed most of us for decades at Republic Gardens, Dream, Love, and The Park at 14th. We all loved her incredible cooking, but if you knew Chef Lois, you loved her more. A warm and amazingly talented professional, she had both an incredible career and a large and wonderful family. Our hearts go out to her family, to Marc, and to all those who worked with her over her many decades of culinary excellence.

May God bless, you Lois, and your family as you were laid to rest this week. Thank you for bringing joy, love, and wisdom to so many.
