Wow! We are overwhelmed by the number of people across the country and throughout the DMV who have reached out to share their Post Pub memories. We are filling t-shirts orders as quickly as possible! Send us your order if you'd like this Post Pub keepsake before we run out. Email [email protected]. T-shirts are $25 each. Sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL. I am sad to inform our customers and friends that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related factors I am forced to close the Post Pub permanently. There's simply no other option.

To all of our long time loyal customers, I can only say thank you!! More of you than I can name came in almost every day. You were the biggest part of the Post Pub family. A special thanks to the Washington Post employees who helped us pay a lot of bills over the years!

To my employees: I am sorry it ended so abruptly and that you must now look for employment elsewhere. After 43+ years in the same spot, it is hard for me to say goodbye. I am most proud of the fact that three people worked at the Pub for over 30 years and six people for over 20 years. That tells me it really was more than just a business, it was a family.

Special thanks to Chris Beaulieu, Photius "Frank" Perrus, James Carter, Basil Hanlon, Linda Frantz, Rodney Williams, Kelvin Norman, Jason Caracofe, BJ Rector, and a very special thanks to my manager Kathy Caparratto without whom it may have ended several years ago.

Dear Friends of the Post Pub,

As you know, the COVID-related shutdown has been devastating to the hospitality industry, especially bars and restaurants. Mom and Pop businesses like the Post Pub are particularly hard hit. While a final decision about the future of the Post Pub has not yet been made, it does not look good. The economics of just outdoor seating or limited capacity don't work when coupled with the high operations costs of a D.C. establishment.

For almost 44 years, the Pub has been honored to be a part of your day, evening, Happy Hour, or weekend. We've enjoyed being a place where people from every walk of life feel comfortable. We can't thank you enough for your support over the years. As soon as a final decision has been made on the future of the Post Pub, we will update this page and the local media. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
