Jazz at metrobar

Jazz at metrobar The Marx Cafe is at once both an intimate listening venue and an unpretentious, at-home bar.

We present jazz and its affiliated art forms weekly, with a jam session on Tuesdays and smaller feature shows throughout the week, mostly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. As the world grows into isolation, fear, and fractiousness, come out and hang w/ us to get down and connect with the beauty of your community.

last week was such a blast! Here is a snippet from the great Kenny Rittenhouse who blessed the session on this blazing blues. Join us this Wednesday (and every Wednesday) from 7-10pm as we continue to seek beauty and fire in our wonderful city.

For those who came to our other jam session before the pandemic, please note that we have moved to the amazing metrobar DC on Rhode Island Avenue. We are so glad to be there and hope you can find time and energy to come out to see us.

metrobar is even more conveniently located than our old location, just steps from the Rhode Island Avenue metro station, and right off the main Metropolitan Branch bike trail. Tons of on-site parking as well (just make sure to drive up to the top and don't park in the garage down below!)
