The Baum Shelter is located in the historic mining town of Warren, Idaho, approximately 49 miles up Warren Wagon Rd from McCall. We also have a large selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, lodging, fuel, and ice, as well as historic information and mining artifacts from the area. SUMMER/FALL: we are open from late-May/early-June until early/mid November and we are a popular destination f
or campers, motorcyclists, ATVs, hunters, and all sorts of outdoor adventure seekers! WINTER: we are open from mid-December until early/mid-April (dependent on the trail-grooming program). During this time there is no wheeled traffic allowed on Warren Wagon Rd beyond the Francis Wallace Snow Parking Lot so we are SNOWMOBILE ACCESS ONLY during the winter months (tracked vehicles also welcome!). It is approximately 35 miles of groomed snow trail to reach us, with tons of backcountry riding all along the way!
[We experience temporary closures in April/May and November/December as we transition between drivable road and groomed snow trail.]
We host a few special events throughout the year - follow us for more info, food specials, seasonal hours/closures, and road/trail conditions!
