It’s done... I did it.
I finished the book. Living The Scene is complete!!!
The Cover has been pretty much designed, interior is done, minus whatever we find in final edits.
I have ordered my first author proofs 😳 and am waiting for their delivery
I started this project back in April 2025, right after my mother passed away from cancer. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours listening to OFNR digging through my stupidly huge archive and putting this thing together in hopes of capturing the scene as I lived it.
391 total pages cover to end filled with original flyers, collages, stories, memories, and pictures spanning years of Connecticut and global independent Rock and Metal history.
This book became more than I originally intended. In a lot of ways, it became a time capsule. Not just of bands and shows, but of friendships, community, creativity, and an entire era of my life connected through OFNR and the scene that helped shape me.
It was fun at times listening back understanding the moment as it happened but it was also exhausting, frustrating, emotional, and at times so very overwhelming to put it all together.
But for the first time, it feels very much real.
I can finally say: I actually finished the damn book!!!! HOLY S**T!
