Some evenings are made to be remembered. This is one of them.

On Saturday, October 10th, we're opening the doors to the Chihuly Tasting Room at Long Shadows Winery in Walla Walla for an intimate, seated dinner surrounded by the work of artist Todd Telander (Telander Gallery), with the artist himself in the room and part of the evening's conversation. Chef Rock Silva of East Alder Table - Walla Walla is crafting a harvest-inspired menu for the evening, Founding Winemaker Gilles Nicault is pouring a lineup of limited-quantity wines chosen just for this dinner, and musicians from the Walla Walla Symphony are setting the soundtrack.

Beautiful art. Inspired food. Elegant wines. Live music. This is what happens when creative people gather to celebrate the harvest together, and it's the kind of night that doesn't come around often.

Doors open at 6 PM, and round-trip transportation from the Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center is included, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy.

Congratulations to Dennis Fraley, named the 2026 recipient of the Allen Shoup Memorial Fellowship for Writers and Communicators.

The fellowship was established in honor of Allen Shoup, founder of Long Shadows Vintners, and his lifelong love of Washington wine. It sends emerging writers into the vineyards, into the cellars, into conversation with the people who make this state's wine what it is, so they can find their own way of telling its story. That belief, that the story only really comes alive when you experience it firsthand, is at the heart of everything this fellowship was built to honor.

Dennis is a wine writer, educator and judge with a WSET Diploma and bylines that include Food & Wine and Vinum. He'll spend time this year among Washington's vineyards and wineries, gathering the sights, textures, and flavors that will shape his own telling of this region's story.

We're proud to see this fellowship continue to grow in Allen's memory, and we can't wait to read what Dennis discovers.
