We are sorry the Chairman of the board has been CANCELLED!!!!
Unfortunately we are unable to have weddings or music groups over at our pavillion.
The Garden Cafe has been a victim in the South Carolina liability insurance crisis.
After 29 yrs in the business and never having a claim filed on my insurance.
When I went to renew my insurance my insurance company would not renew my policy. So my agent worked hard to find a insurance company that would write my policy,
after being turned down by 8 companies and days away from my policy ending and wondering if I was going to have to close my doors because we could not find a company that would write my policy, he found a company that would, but the stipulation in closing my doors because I had no insurance or staying open was that at the pavillion would not be able to have a dance floor.
That's right, insurance companies are scared to write liability insurance on venues, bars, and restaurants and if you can find one or multiple you could face a increase that you would not be able to afford to stay open.
Please go to South Carolina Venues in Crisis on Facebook this will be able to explain more about this problem we are all having when we go to renew our insurance. If there is not a change down in Columbia for our state on this issue there are going to be alot your favorite places closing and it is sad it already happening. Thank you for listening to me there have been alot of questions from customers why we are unable right now to continue to do weddings and our music venue.
