To all of my Village Grille friends:
I have made the very tough decision to sell The Village Grille. The past 16 years have been special, and I will miss being here greatly. However, it is the right time for my family and I to start our next chapter.
There are so many people who have helped me along the way to make this place successful and so many people I want to thank.
I want to start with my wife, Matina and our three kids, Katerina, Nayia and Manos. Their love, patience and support has meant everything to me and has helped get me through long nights, weekends, holidays, good times and bad. I will miss the girls playing guest bartender but will enjoy spending extra time with my family.
Thank you to my father for teaching me the business and for all of his advice. Thank you to my mother for her support and especially for tirelessly baking all the delicious desserts we've offered over the years. I want to also thank my brothers and their families, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. Thank you to everyone from my hometown of Park Ridge and the surrounding towns, friends and their families, former classmates, teachers and coaches who have routinely made trips up for dinner and to say 'Hi.'
I can't imagine a better town than Waldwick. Thank you to the Mayor, borough clerk's office, building department, water department, police & fire departments and Chamber of Commerce. You have supported and protected us all these years, and we are eternally grateful.
To Tony and Anna, thank you for your continued support, encouragement and for always having my back.
To all of my employees, both past and present. You are just as much responsible for our success as I am. I have always tried to cultivate a culture of comfort, warmth & family. You have become my friends and my family. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am very proud of what we have accomplished here, and I am proud of all of you and appreciate all the hard work, dedication and loyalty.
Last but most importantly not least, my loyal customers. You have supported us through good times and bad, hurricanes, summer lulls, winter snowstorms and a global pandemic. You have allowed me to be a part of your most special celebrations -- birthdays, baptisms, communions, happy hours, date nights, football Sundays, New Year's Eve and holiday dinners.
I would like to congratulate Charlie Wonswicz and his family. He is getting a great place in a very special community. I wish him all the best.
Our last day of business will be this coming Sunday, January 15th. New ownership will accept all outstanding gift cards when they reopen.
I do hope you will stop by before Sunday so I can personally say, 'thank you.' Also, come visit me at the Ridge Diner in Park Ridge, where I will be until the time is right to hopefully embark on a new venture.
With love, appreciation and gratitude,
Bobby Meidanis & Family
