Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage, dedication, and selflessness.
Here in our military town, the sounds of military flyovers are not a disruption,;they are a powerful tribute. The thunderous roar of aircraft overhead is a part of our daily lives, but today, it carries an even deeper meaning. It is a reminder of the sacrifices made by so many and the resilience of their families. We are truly honored to live in a community that holds such a strong connection to those who serve.

If you're here in Virginia Beach, we invite you to join us for a special Memorial Day ceremony:
📅 Event: Memorial Day Formal Ceremony
🕛 Time: Noon – 1:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Tidewater Veterans Memorial, 1000 19th St. (across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center)
🎖 Details: Hosted by Mayor Robert "Bobby" Dyer and the Mayor's Committee for Veterans, the ceremony will feature a military aircraft flyover, a 21-gun salute, and a wreath-laying to honor fallen heroes.

💵 Cost: Free and open to the public

As we take time to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, we also celebrate the freedoms they fought to protect. Here in Virginia Beach, the sounds of military flyovers and the sight of flags waving remind us of the deep connection we share with those who serve.
