The idea for Mix It Up started back in 2013 when I was working next door, at the ABC store. I would dream of being able have my own store to sell mixers, and then one day I had the opportunity and took the leap. I am so thankful I was able to convince my soon to be wife at the time to take the leap with me- and then again a year later when we decided to open up the Bar side.
For 6 straight years, we worked 10-15 hours per day- and loved every second of it. All of our customers became regulars and then became friends and family. We have celebrated every milestone in our lives at mix it up and with that mix it up family. We have been honored to host all of your milestones, too. We have been a part of first dates that turned into marriages, proposals, gender reveals, baby showers, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, a wedding, retirement parties and more. That is so special to us.
During this season of Coronavirus, we were forced to close down. It was the first time in 6 years that we weren’t working, worrying about, living and breathing Mix It Up. We have had the opportunity to enjoy life with each other and most importantly- with our son, Brantley. We have gotten to relax, go on bike rides and walks, go to the beach, go to bed early .. little luxuries that we didn’t have in the bar business. We have also learned how important it is to enjoy life.
With that being said, we have decided to get out of the bar business. We will be keeping the location and expanding on another venture in a different industry.
We will be opening Mix It Up one last time, on July 4th from 12-5; If you have a gift card that is either not expired or expired during the pandemic, you will be able to come by and use it on the bottle shop side, or we will buy it back from you! You may also come pick up your Mug to keep forever as your Mix It Up Souvenir!
Since we will still be in the location- this is not goodbye!
Huge thank you to all of you! Thank you for supporting our business, becoming our friends and family, hosting your events with us and giving us the love and support that has helped us to have the faith and courage open more businesses and take risks for things we believe in !
