25 years ago, our world changed forever.

On September 11, 2001, we lost friends, family members, coworkers, neighbors, and loved ones. We lost courageous first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away. We lost thousands of lives—and with them, countless dreams, futures, and moments that should have been.

A quarter of a century has passed, but time has not erased their memory.

We remember the lives that were taken too soon.
We remember the bravery of the first responders.
We remember the families who carried unimaginable loss.
We remember the heroes—both in uniform and ordinary people—who showed extraordinary courage in our nation’s darkest hours.

And we remember how, in the days that followed, we stood together. We were neighbors. We were Americans. We looked out for one another, held each other a little closer, and were reminded just how precious life truly is.

25 years later, we have not forgotten.

And we never will.

Today, we pause to honor every life lost, every family forever changed, and every hero whose courage and sacrifice will remain part of our nation’s story.
