Sarasota, raise a glass for Nick's Bar .
Bee Ridge Road since Christmas of 1972. One family. One man behind the bar since two days after his 18th birthday, 49 years looking out the same window.

If you grew up here, you have a Nick's story. Your dad's after-work b**r. Your first legal drink. The night you swore you were only staying for one.

Tell us yours in the comments. Tag who you were with.

We know a little about staying put. Bahi Hut has been pouring on the North Trail since 1954, which makes us Florida's oldest tiki bar. Seventy-two years teaches you one thing: a bar lasts only as long as its regulars keep walking in. Nick's had the best of them.

To the Monda family: thank you for more than 50 years of keeping a stool open for this town.
To the ones still standing, The Gator Club , Memories Lounge Crescent Club Bar & Package - Siesta Key, Beach Club Siesta Key - 1947, Red Barn Bar : this round is a toast to you. Old Sarasota isn't gone as long as your doors are open.
Locals, pick one this week and go sit in it.

Cheers, Nick's.
