We are just a few days away from Jazz Fest Lite! Today we feature two of our fabulous jazz faculty members, Jeffrey Brown and Anne Marie Bice. Prof. Bice will perform on the first half of Thursday's Jazz Fest program. This will be Prof. Brown's final performance at Valparaiso University after forty years as Jazz Studies Coordinator, and thirty-five years as the founder and producer of our annual Jazz Fest. Tune in Thursday at 7:30 and 8:30 to support our amazing faculty!

Huge thanks to Kris Lohn on bass, Stefan Hess on keys, and Dan Piccoli on sax for jamming all evening!! Also drummer Andy Sutton, trombonists Tanner Gesell and Paul Flaten, and vocalist Anne Marie Bice for sitting in - we had an awesome time! Tonight we'll be jamming in the Valparaiso University campus cafe. Well known jazz, blues, and funk standards. The house band will feature Kris Lohn on bass, Stefan Hess on piano, and Ben Piazza on drums. Vocalists, horn and sax players, and all other musicians are most welcome to lay down some jams. Sit in or spectate!

VU Jazz Band events for this week!

Tuesday 3/27: Duffy's Place (1154 Axe Ave. Valparaiso) from 8-10:30pm. Two hour-long sets with a 30 minute meal break in between (perfect time to snag some tasty wings). NO COVER.

Wednesday 3/28: Lunch Jazz Jam from 12-1 in Founder's. All are welcome to spectate or play tunes with us at this mellow sesh! NO COVER.

Thursday 3/29: Late night Jazz JAM in the Union Cafe! 7pm-?? Hosting a high energy jam to generate some excitement for Jazz Fest 2018. This one's gonna get rowdy! NO COVER.
