To the Customers 🍻
Rosebud Sioux Tribe members, Cherry & Todd County ranchers, residents of Valentine, highways 20, 83 and 12, you made it happen everyday. Others of you from Brazil to Bridgeport, Eastern Europe to Central Oklahoma, strangers became friends each year.

Anyone that worked in the restaurant came to understand that for 3 generations we obsessed over delivering value. 4 decades and over 3 million guests, we didn’t always get it right and even the internet haters helped us refine the process everyday. Thank you from the Joseph family for all the ways you participated in our story.

It was difficult to close this book after so many chapters but many rural diners don’t get to choose when they shut it down. We were able to move on when things were uncommonly good. All of you made this possible!

A heartfelt thank you to all the employees over the past 4 decades. Some were like family. Others were like family, but like the aunts and uncles that got weird at Thanksgiving 😂

We weren’t always great at showing the gratitude you deserved and we regret the day to day grind often got in the way of having the conversations that matter. We had an embarrassment of riches for so many years of hardworking people that made the machine regularly crank out some of the most consistently excellent meals you’ll ever find in a rural diner!

Bless you and your families as you move on to commit your talents to other endeavors.

RE: The Ranch
Thank you to the scores of folks who inquired via email, social media, super intense carrier pigeon, Robert’s cellular tele and even in person at our 1st grader’s parent-teacher conference.

We did not intend to serve one billion people last evening but really appreciated the support! We’re up early, going to pick up the pieces and evaluate the steak and ranch situation. A post will follow with pricing. Ranch will be available in the East Room store.
