The "Jazz at the Herring" series is a collective of local and University of Illinois talent showcasing their work. The basement of the Channing-Murray Foundation, also known as the Red Herring, has served as a positive and creative environment for the "Jazz at the Herring" series. Theres thoughts of hosting the Jazz Fest at the iHotel, Canopy, and Allerton. Which is most accessible to our student population, student meaning 5th grade through college.

ANNOUNCEMENT: My last day at the Channing-Murray Foundation/Red Herring will be August 20th. It certainly has been an exciting year and a half. Thank you all for all the support, I do plan to still host the Jazz Fest this upcoming year, I am still searching for the right venue, as a few places have already contacted me about hosting.

Again Thank You for the support and the wonderful music. I just wish the hundreds of hours of work were enough to keep things going.

Finally a big shoutout to Stephan Braun, Tim Miles, Anna Grass, Samuel Music, The Music Shoppe, Corson's, Oliver Nelson Junior, Rodrigo Villanueva-Conroy, Phil Doyle, Chip McNeil, Palmer, and the Chambana community. Your faith and persistence in my efforts is what allowed this town to host an enriching educational jazz fest, free to any student, and a (somewhat) consistent series of students playing music.
