Four days into recovering from Hurricane Isaias, the Pensacola Eggfest team are reminded that a hot meal is about much more than what’s on your plate.

As things have felt uncertain since Friday, and much of life has been turned upside down, this grill has brought comfort and community.

It’s allowed us to re-nourish, share what we have, check on neighbors, and remember that even after a storm, there are still good things in Pensacola.

Our Big Green Eggs have never felt more valuable.

For those who love them, a Big Green Egg is more than a grill. It’s where some of the best memories are made and brings people together, one meal at a time.

That’s a big part of what Pensacola EggFest has always been about, too.

Yes, we love great barbecue, incredible cooks, and the fun of gathering around the Egg. But at the heart of it all is community.

And we’re also reminded of this: Pensacola has always been about more than surviving a storm. It’s about how we show up for one another afterward.

To the neighbors sharing meals, the families checking on one another, the crews working long hours, and everyone finding a way to help someone else: WE SEE YOU. 💚

We’re grateful for you. And we’re thankful to be part of a community that knows how to come together when it matters most.

So if your Big Green Egg has been working overtime this week, you’re in good company.

Because the best thing to come off a Big Green Egg has never really been the food.

🔥 MEET THE EGGFEST TEAM🔥: AZALEA TRACE

Some teams are new to Pensacola EggFest. Azalea Trace has been here since the beginning. 👀

Chef James Fontaine is an EggFest OG, cooking in the very first event back in 2013.

Since then, he’s collected competition wins, developed award-winning recipes and served 700+ meals a day to the residents of Azalea Trace.

And this year, he’s bringing something that sounds like a very good reason to find their tent:
