I found this yesterday in my mother’s collection of calligraphy from 1983. She was an old school Republican who believed in freedoms. I wonder if my 1983 mother would see the hypocrisy that’s happening today - freedoms being eroded from women, from people of color, from immigrants, from the LBGTQ+ communities, etc. She was very much a person who believed in the “slippery slope” of “if they take one right away, they can take all the rights away” sort of thing. Alas, 1983 mom is long gone. I hope America can wake up and see that it’s gone astray. This is not who we are. We claim to be a country of peace, love, freedom, equality, and justice for ALL. Let’s act like it!

This is 59 (well, 59 with the Paris filter 😘). Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I had a fabulous day farting around with Karl, floating in the pool, eating amazing food at Cenote for lunch and Foreign & Domestic for dinner, and finally singing karaoke at Common Interest Austin with a few besties. Another birthday in the books. And yesterday was a palindrome, too - 62326! 🥳🎂🎤
