About an hour north of the Dome is Chester, Illinois — the home of Popeye! ⚓️

Chester is the official hometown of Popeye the Sailor Man’s creator, Elzie Crisler Segar, who was born there in 1894. Today, you can follow the Popeye Character Trail throughout town, where you’ll find larger-than-life statues of Popeye and his famous friends — including Olive Oyl, Wimpy, Bluto and more! 🥬⚓️ Be sure to visit the Popeye museum too!

And then, head south…

Metropolis proudly celebrates its connection to the Man of Steel with the Worlds largest Superman statue standing in the town square. The statue has become one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, and you can even visit the Super Museum, packed with Superman memorabilia and comic-book history. 🦸‍♂️💥

👀 A little sneak peek behind the scenes here at Pecheken Ventures!

We’re working hard to keep our new project on schedule while still leaving ourselves a little flexibility when things inevitably shift. 😉

I love having everything laid out the old-school way—on paper and with LOTS of Post-it notes! 📝

These little Post-its make it super easy to move things around, adjust timelines, and keep track of all the moving pieces as we bring this project to life.

We can’t wait to start sharing all the details with you soon… but for now, you’ll just have to enjoy this little peek! 👀✨

🐢🦌🐇 You never know who’s going to stop by The Dome! 🐄🦃

➡️This little cutie recently stopped by to say hi!

From birds, turtles, gophers, bunnies, groundhogs, deer and turkeys… to our four-legged neighbors—the cows across the street—you just never know who you might spot while staying at The Dome! 🌿✨

It’s just one more little reminder that sometimes the best part of getting away is slowing down, looking around, and enjoying the unexpected moments.

😂😂 Y’all, teenagers will humble you in the most unexpected ways!

I’m sitting here scheduling Facebook posts, and my 14-year-old asks, “What are you doing?”

Me: “Scheduling posts.”

Him: “Oh, like meal prepping for Facebook.” 🤣🤣

I mean… he’s not wrong! 💀

And honestly, I’m so grateful for every single one of you who follows along with our little business journey. ❤️ I love sharing the behind-the-scenes moments, the wins, the projects, and even the everyday chaos that comes with running a family business.
