Shh! The Roadhouse only opens to the public on the second Saturday evening of the month. You never know. Why does it take time to find the Roadhouse? Ask around.

The Roadhouse may be the best-kept secret in Northern New Jersey — the area’s best jazz, rock, and even the occasional folkie in an intimate coffeehouse venue. It’s where the area’s musicians go to hear other musicians, and you might find yourself sitting next to a famous jazz drummer or a vocalist from Australia. Musicians love the audience that takes the time to find the Roadhouse, and when musicians love their audience, they play their hearts out. We’ve cleverly hidden it in a church basement, where audience and musicians are within touching distance of each other. The acoustics are great. The Roadhouse serves real coffee and tea — it’s a coffeehouse, not a bar, after all. Hot and cold snacks and desserts are included in the admission. There’s art, too, because art and music go together. You can sip your coffee while perusing original works available for purchase at the Roadhouse Fine Arts Gallery. Works change with each opening. You might be surprised to find who knows about the Roadhouse. But you didn’t hear it from us…
As a fun, creative, community outreach mission of the church, show proceeds always benefit local NJ charities. Admission includes the show, snacks, beverages and desserts, plus the art gallery. Union 34TV records the shows for broadcast — so check out past shows on cable TV34. See the Roadhouse on Union TV Channel 34’s “Union After Dark” nightly music series.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14 AT 8PM
Slide guitar that’s stunningly mesmerizing. Vocals that soar, a backup band that’s solid; featuring driving, precision bass; crisp drums and an unmistakable classic drawbar organ sound that rounds out the musical richness that is the ROBERT HILL BAND!
If the music weren’t enough, there will be visuals featuring original, creative and downright fun videos synchronized with the music performed live by the band!
And then there’s art. Music and art – to repeat a famous phrase – perfect together! When listening to great music our brains are open and accepting to the visual appeal of creative artwork. Featured art will be by band front man, Robert Hill, sharing the gallery space with Roadhouse Café director Bruce Tangowski.

June – a month known for strawberries, blooming roses, warm weather, sunny skies and Flag Day. June also includes the Summer Solstice, when the day and night are equal in length. Oh, and there’s Father’s Day! Hear that mom? Simply Longer days and more fun.

At the Salem Roadhouse Café, on Saturday, June 13th, the Roadhouse Posse has again rounded up the unusual suspects and will present for your witness and ultimate verdict a “note-orious” group of musicians who are known as the “WANTED IN APRIL” gang.

Remember them from last April? We wanted them again

It was no easy task. Gathering disparate (Desperate?) musicians together is like trying to herd cats. Ever try it? A year after their last trial at the Roadhouse, where they were let go under their own cognizance; their individual musical shenanigans since have brought them to notorious scrutiny, and we had to round them up again. The Roadhouse Posse has done it! These cats can really run, but a promise of food brought them to us.
On June 13th, at 8PM, the WANTED gang will be heard and tried again. This time they have no defense. All they will have are their reputations and performance abilities to bring to you, the jury, who will decide their fate as to whether or not they are acceptable to musical society or should be strictly kept under lock and key at the Salem Roadhouse Café, never to be unleashed upon unsuspecting audiences again, unless under supervision.
