W**e Wednesday is here! This weeks feature is Makarounas Vineyards “En Arhi” Cabernet Franc, Letymbou, Pafos, Cyprus.

‘En Arhi’ means ‘In the Beginning’ and was the first w**e w**emaker Theodoros Makarounas ever made at his family’s estate. The grapes sourced from 30+ year old vines that are own-rooted/ungrafted, a method not often used these post-phylloxera days. Spontaneously fermented in stainless steel, we are given a softer Cabernet Franc with muted pyrazine notes. The aroma invites with dark berries and violets, the palate finishes with earth notes of green peppercorn. Medium bodied, a little broody but very approachable. $24 to take home.
