Dear Granite Roots customers & friends,
We believe the time has come for Granite Roots to pause on re-opening (at least for the 2025 season). During this pause we will be working on the possibility of moving Granite Roots to a new location; one better suited to the experience we’d like to provide customers, staff and musicians. As fun as the current location has been, we’ve always had to run it in a bootstrapped fashion and the lack of any real permanent or sizable retail structure has been far from ideal when hit with regular New England weather. We made it work (kinda), but it wasn’t the easiest! This winter brought some crazy cold temps causing damage to frozen/burst pipes and water damage throughout the brewery building. This helped seal the deal on winding down activities at our current location and the search for something more appropriate. We’ve got a few ideas and are beginning to put things in motion to continue Granite Roots better than ever at a pretty rad new location.
At this time two of our founding members, Fenella & Anthony will also be retiring out of the business. We wish them nothing but enjoyment in this new chapter and hopefully some well deserved R&R and quality time as brand-new grandparents! There is no doubt they will be kicking around the new location and ready to share a pint when that time comes.
We’d like to personally thank all of our customers, musicians, vendors and employees over the years for all the incredible times at our 244 North Main St. location. You guys came out in rain, shine, blizzards, blistering heat, pandemics - you name it, and for that we are so thankful. We ate, drank, danced and laughed in our tiny tap room & humble beer garden. We will look back at the memories of patrons sharing smiles, laughs & beers along with all the gatherings & music performances as one of the coolest things we’ve been a part of. It’s certainly been an eventful ride! Until we can hopefully get back to that we hope you have a wonderful summer supporting local businesses, breweries and musicians throughout the region. We hope to see you out there somewhere! 🙏 🍻
