Before you decide, ask for the association documents and check dues, possible extra costs, insurance, rules and everyday access. In Northern Michigan, snow removal and parking deserve a closer read.

Look at the slope, follow the downspouts, and ask about low spots before checking below the house. No single clue settles the question. Around Traverse City, I like to pair that walk-through with the seller's history and a qualified inspection when concerns come up.
