Marc & Katie Sonderegger and Matt & Larissa Slimmer are so excited to introduce you to Salut! This project is a culmination of many years of friendship, food, and good conversations. Their concept had only been a figment of their imagination until their ideal location, in the historic Westboro Mart, recently became available. Imagine being able to enjoy a glass of wine, cocktail, or local beer and
share a bite to eat with family, friends, or colleagues in a laid back, yet upscale neighborhood lounge that feels more like your living room than a restaurant. Salut will meet a unique need that is not currently met in the Topeka community. The upstairs lounge will offer select wines by the glass or bottle, carefully chosen by the Salut sommelier, classic and signature cocktails, handcrafted with the finest spirits and freshest ingredients, and everyone's favorite local beers on tap. Marc has created small plates that will pair perfectly with any drink from the bar. The food menu will also feature tartines, delicious French open-faced sandwiches that are topped with fresh ingredients and are perfect for sharing. Patrons will have several seating options including lounge areas, tables, and bar seating. No matter the choice, the seating will be comfortable and lend itself to hours of enjoyment and relaxation. In addition to the upstairs lounge, Salut will house a basement speakeasy, The Principal's Office, that will offer a small, intimate venue for quiet, private conversations and occasional live music. Patrons wanting entrance to the speakeasy will enter through the private backdoor. When the weather permits, the patio will offer the perfect place for a sparkling wine cocktail or cold local beer. Salut will offer supper club events, wine classes, and private event space for parties and family gatherings. They are excited to serve as a neighborhood and community hub, partnering with several local small businesses and will present an expression of deep roots and devotion to the community.
