There really is something special about living and doing business in a small town. And that’s exactly why we chose to buy the building we did!

As we’re on the final steps to getting Grit & Grind Sportshouse open, we wanted to take a minute to give a huge shoutout to Himpel Lumber and Hardware for always taking such great care of us throughout this renovation. Whether it’s materials, advice, or tracking down exactly what we need, they’ve been there every step of the way.

Today was another reminder of why we love this community. When it came time to get our commercial hood into the building, they showed up and helped make it happen. That kind of support means more than you know. (Because honestly - we had no idea what to do without them!)

This is exactly why we’d choose a small community every single time—business owners genuinely showing up for one another, cheering each other on, and lending a hand when it’s needed.

And on a personal note, we’re so thankful this journey has also given us a friendship with Brooke and Joe. We love having you both in our lives and truly appreciate everything you’ve done for us.

Supporting local isn’t just a slogan, it’s people helping people. If you’re looking for a business that genuinely cares about its customers and this community, we can’t recommend Himpel Lumber enough. Thank you for helping us get one step closer to opening our doors! You two work great together !

Hello everyone! We just wanted to give an update on our building progress. We are currently waiting on a few final installs and deliveries before we can officially open for business. We are getting so close, and we are beyond excited to open our doors to the public soon!

Just wanted to share a little progress update with you all 💚

Here are a few of the before photos as we continue working on Grit & Grind Sportshouse. It’s been so fun watching this space slowly transform, and we’re grateful we get to bring you along for the journey.

Every coat of paint, every demo day, every late night is building something special for Tonganoxie. We’re creating a space where you can grab great food, catch the game, bring the family during the day, and enjoy that full sports bar energy at night.

We are currently refinishing the bar , waiting on out commericial kitchen install , new furniture and fixture arrival , and once the weather is consistent, start on exterior!

There’s still more to do, but we can already see the vision coming together. We truly can’t wait to share the after photos and the finished space with you soon.

Grit & Grind Sports House is currently under renovation, and we are counting down the days until we can open our doors.

Our vision is simple — create a space where the community can gather, connect, and celebrate together.

By day, Grit & Grind will be a family-friendly sports house. A place to grab lunch after practice, bring the kids to watch the game, meet coworkers, or enjoy great food in a welcoming atmosphere.

By night, the energy shifts. The lights dim, the drinks get stronger, and the volume turns up. We would love to be your go-to spot for big games, live entertainment, weekend events, and nights out with friends family gatherings , and so much more .

Expect elevated bar food, craft cocktails, ice-cold beer, wall-to-wall sports, and an atmosphere built on hustle, pride, and hometown spirit.

We’re not just opening a sports bar.
We’re building Tonganoxie’s next gathering place.
