I'll be at the MgE Gallery beside The Merc in Todd tomorrow, with plants! Tomatoes and peppers, and some other odds and ends, plus some BEAUTIFUL raspberry plants. All of them will bear some fruit this year, and already have growth for next year
! Come to the Merc and get a snack, then sneak on around to see what's going on at the gallery!

Anyone need some crystal ware? I have this set of matching blown glass I'd like to sell to someone local, really don't want to ship it!
There are 6 wine/water glasses, 4 champagne flutes, 6 margarita glasses, 4 martini glasses and 2 schott glasses. That's 22 pieces for $30. I may be able to help with delivery if it's not too far. Best to call me at 36 877 5161 (land line, do not text) or email me at [email protected].

It's time for this old farmer to power down, starting with thinning out my goat herd. I will sell the black doe for $100. She is 2 yrs old, kidded once. She is not milking now but could be induced. She is 100%Alpine, her father is registered, her mother could have been.

ALSO: Free to a good home. Solid black yearling doe who is genetically small. She is also 100% Alpine and very sweet and friendly. She would make a great pet, but will never be big enough for dairying.

More info? Call me...do not text...336 877 5161. I live on Todd RR Grade Rd.

I'm still hanging on with my little farm stand. I realize it's a ways out, and I don't, and won't, have much in the way of produce. So I'll let you know what I do have:
Eggs. Still coming, but I noticed the last couple days that the number I pick up at night is just a few less than it was. After the Summer Solstice, those girls start thinking (?) twice about making babies. I also have some dried eggs for winter emergencies, camping, etc.
Peppers: Starting to have some nice ones, I have a few jalapenos, more serranos, lots of sugar rush peach (HOT!), and a few sweet ones, too. Funny how the hot ones are just so much more productive.
I have a ton of lamb's quarter, for someone wanting to put some in the freezer for winter. I won't cut it until you get here and ask,
Also fresh garlic. I will probably be trying to dig up the rest of the purple stripe in the morning.
And I'll have some large zucchini, great for scooping out and stuffing (recipe included) or for making zoodles. Zucchini also makes great pickles, doesn't seem to get soggy as badly as cukes.
Probably one bag of red swiss chard.
Maybe I'll see you tomorrow!

Its Thursday. I must be catching up.
My farm stand will be open Sat. 9ish to 2ish. I still have tomato and pepper plants. I also have some sprouted garlic if you'd like to get some planted.. I'll have fresh herbs and mints ( mojitos? Tabouli? Mint iced tea?) I have
eggs, local honey, jam, pickles, vinegars, and a new product: Pickled Bamboo Shoots. Everyone who has tried them says they're great. If you want to reserve something or know if I have it: 336 877 5161.

I now have two 8 oz.. bags of spicy arugula and one ni e Chinese cabbage. Whoever gets here first!

I forgot to take photos last week, but our opening was very successful. Thanks to everyone who came by. We're going to try it again tomorrow. I will have some produce: a couple bags of lettuce, one bag of rapini, some kale, fresh herbs and mints. Eggs of course. I have some plants ready, but I'm holding back the tomatoes and peppers and cucumbers. It's just not time yet.
Since it's cool today, I'm thinking about baking some bread...maybe multigrain? Anybody interested? Maybe some scones?
Parking in my one-lane driveway is problematic. But there's very little traffic on this road, so parking on the shoulders is a common practice. Either side. I'm working on my signage...
It will be cool in the morning, but I'll be there, about 9, since I can't put things out in the cold tonight. And I'll leave stuff out till about 3 or so. Hope to see you.
