Two supermoons in August mean double the stargazing fun PLUS a rare super blue moon!

Catch the first show tonight as the full moon rises in the southeast, appearing slightly brighter and bigger than normal. That’s because it will be closer than usual, just 222,159 miles (357,530 kilometers) away, thus the supermoon label.

The moon will be even closer the night of Aug. 30 — a scant 222,043 miles (357,344 kilometers) distant. Because it’s the second full moon in the same month, it will be what’s called a blue moon.

“Warm summer nights are the ideal time to watch the full moon rise in the eastern sky within minutes of sunset. And it happens twice in August,” said retired NASA astrophysicist Fred Espenak, dubbed Mr. Eclipse for his eclipse-chasing expertise.

The last time two full supermoons graced the sky in the same month was in 2018. It won’t happen again until 2037.

A blue moon means two full moons in the same month. That’s why people say once in a blue moon. Because simply doesn’t happen very often.

( depending on event type , there is a posibility that you could book an event that only last an hour but could cost 250.00 up to 1000.00 ), but most events will be priced as follows - 4 hrs will be 600.00. 6 hrs will be 900.00. 8 hrs will be 1200.00. These Rates include the D.J., Bar Tender and a Bus boy. No food or alcohol is included. if you would like beer, alcohol, food and drinks it is available, and can be quoted. we can also offer you a cook for hire. come enjoy a day or night filled with good times, great memories and a whole lot of fun !
