Why are we called Ednasโ€™ on the Green? โ™ฅ๏ธ

A lot of people ask where the name Ednasโ€™ comes fromโ€ฆ and itโ€™s actually a real family story.

Our name honours two remarkable women, both called Edna โ€” Edna โ€œLilโ€ McGlocklin and Edna โ€œSkipโ€ McDonough โ€” who shared a passion for hospitality, hard work and looking after their communities. One ran a beloved restaurant, the other helped run the local family market, and together they built friendships, supported one another and embodied what hospitality is all about.

Years later, their families became connected when Lilโ€™s daughter married Skipโ€™s son. Their granddaughter, Jordan Edna, would go on to help create the next chapter of the familyโ€™s hospitality story here at .

So when you visit Ednasโ€™ on the Green, youโ€™re experiencing a place inspired by two women who believed great food, good company and genuine hospitality bring people together. โค๏ธ
